What They Said About Learning Spanish In Colombia...

“Colombia is one of the best countries I have ever visited.  The people generally are very kind & helpful, and in social situations very warm, friendly, and inviting.  The costs are very reasonable, and the scenery incredible. It's true that you won't want to leave!

I also had a wonderful teacher who understood why I make the mistakes I do because of his familiarity with English.  This was VERY helpful.”
- Christine Banks, from Oakland California

“After taking Spanish courses in Chile, Argentina, and Ecuador, Colombia finally turned out to be what I was looking for.  No matter where you go, you are not going to find more friendly, approachable people, who are willing to help you out.    The atmosphere is just more relaxed, from the professors to anyone you will meet, to the way of life.  The one-on-one classes make the material relevant to your life and not simply some textbook that you will find with group classes.  But seriously, Colombia is great, and if I could do it over I would have just gone straight there from the beginning.  In the end you are going to get out what you put in, so if you are serious about learning Spanish, there is not a better place.”
- Nate Remley, USA

“I love Colombia. I can't leave this place. The people are intelligent, friendly, and easy going. The land is beautiful and warm. I had an opportunity to take a class in the incredible 'finca' in Pacho and I completely fell in love the the mountains, lake, water falls and nature.
Luis Fernando (Bogotá) is a great teacher. Patient yet firm, consistent and incredibly well educated. He could assess precisely what I needed most to get a grasp on the basics of the language. I've learned things in a few days that not even my 3 years in high school touched on. I've only had a few classes here and already Colombians can understand my accent better along with a better grasp of context, conjugation, and grammar. I wish I had him in high school. I'd be a lot further along!”
- Patrick Hudson, New York

“I really did make a tremendous amount of progress in my Spanish in just a week. My teacher, Luis, is capable of customizing the instruction to fit one's particular needs. I'd highly recommend him. What I liked most about Colombia were the people. I generally like to take public transportation when I travel, which means that I'm lost a fair amount in my travels. What impressed me was how friendly and helpful people were in helping me get to where I wanted to go.”
- Stephen Carrabino, USA

“Colombia is my favourite country in South America.   The scenery is spectacular and I love it that the country is not on the well travelled tourist track, but what makes it special for me are the people.  Everyone is so friendly and will make the effort to talk to you, even if you don't speak much Spanish and they don't speak much English.
My teacher was superb!  He could always answer my questions and had many interesting tips for improving my Spanish.  The fact that he speaks perfect English is important; I've had Spanish teachers that do not speak English and it makes it harder to grasp the fundamental grammar rules.  Our classes were diverse; some days we would be learning through Spanish pop songs and other times learning idioms - really getting to know how to speak cool Spanish!
My confidence in speaking Spanish and my understanding of grammar improved a lot in just one month of classes.  ”  - Sarah Cannon, Scotland
