One-to-One Classes Are The Fastest Way To Learn…
400% More Talking Time
While reading and writing is important, it is talking – and lots of it – that will really cement the language in your mind. A one-to-one lesson, 2 hours per day, will have 4 times more talking time than an equivalent group lesson. Our teachers will focus on the spoken language so that you become functional as soon as possible, but they’ll also give you exercises to do outside of the class to ensure that your reading and writing is adequate.
Conversational Learning
No contrived exercises where you’re expected to describe all the rooms in your house – study with our teachers and you’ll learn the language in a real conversational situation. You’ll talk about why you came to Colombia, your plans, how to catch the bus, the best restaurant to eat in your area, how to cook traditional Colombian food, some of the social issues in the country, music, life – anything that takes your interest. Through this method, you’ll quickly learn how to converse with any Spanish speaker.
Study What You Want To Learn
Want to buy a bicycle to ride around the city? Tell your teacher and practice the vocabulary and questions that you’ll need to ask in the shop. Want to get a bus to visit the beautiful Caribbean coast? Find out how to get a ticket and which bus to get from your teacher.
The subject of your classes is flexible so that you can prepare for any situation, as and when it arises.
Study At Your Pace
If you find something hard, you can spend as much time on it as you want. In a group class, there is only so much time allocated for each subject, whether you find it easy or hard.
Don’t Be Held Back By The Slowest Member in the Group
In a private lesson, if you find something easy, you don’t need to wait for the rest of the group to catch up. Just move on to the next topic. This means that you learn spanish as quickly as possible, without being held back by less motivated class mates.
Focus On Your Weak Spots
Rather than a pre-set syllabus, your teacher will be identifying the weak spots in your Spanish and showing you how to overcome those. This means that your Spanish progresses quickly and before long, all the beginner-type errors disappear.
Speak To A Natural – Not Another Learner!
In a group class, most of your speaking will be to another student, meaning that mistakes will go uncorrected and your accent will not be checked. In addition, your classmate will only have basic vocabulary and will speak slowly, so your listening skills will not be challenged (and therefore won’t improve).
In our One-On-One classes, you’ll always be speaking to a native Spanish speaker. This means that any problems in your grammar or accent can be identified immediately and corrected. Your teacher will speak slowly enough for you to understand, but quickly enough to challenge your listening skills so that you improve as quickly as possible.
Better Value for Money
Our teachers charge about the same as a group course in a language school, but your rate of progress is likely to be 3 or 4 times faster. In terms of the total cost of learning spanish, our One-on-One classes are far better value for money!
